    温州文化艺术中心项目地处温州市鹿城区。温州鹿城区是温州市的政治、经济、文化中心。鹿城自古商贾云集，素“东瓯名镇”之称，南宋时期诗人杨蟠就有“一片繁华海上头，从来唤作小杭州”的诗句。建筑方案从越剧表演的乐器着手——牛筋琴、扁鼓、三粒板。通过三种乐器放置在台案上同时演奏的状态来作为建筑形态的切入点。见乐器如见越剧，以此来暗喻本建筑的功能定位——越剧表演中心。建筑外立面传承“古戏台”的红色，并用现代的手法演绎和发扬“古戏台”的功能。

      温州文化艺术中心本身独特的功能构成和复杂的技术支撑需要, 其建筑设计除了要满足一般公共建筑的功能、造型、流线、结构等设计要求外, 除了观众厅的平面、剖面、座椅排布、座椅的选择、人流组织与疏散时间的设计要点需要掌控外, 还需要分析两层楼座的观众厅对视线产生遮挡的要素。利用景观设计，强化地块内建筑周边开放空间的整体效果；在充分考虑现有建筑空间围合的条件下，深化场地规划及平面配置，做到开放空间使用的最大化。
